Mommy Cut My Hair!

Ok folks, it was time for a good ole' bang trim on this little lady. Don't believe me? Check out the pics of her from the last posting. Her hair was almost in her mouth while she was eating her kids meal!! The following pics shall serve as proof that mommy CAN trim bangs AND that Sidney CAN take off her diaper!!

My First Kids Meal!

Thanks to Daddy, Sidney recently experienced her FIRST, very own kids meal! The pictures are self-explanatory!!

Marvelous Miss Sidney

With each passing day, our youngest precious little gem gets more and more fun!!! Here are some of my favorite recent moments (and I will admit I wrote these down as they happened so I could compile a list to post):

Sometimes if you ask Sidney if she wants something she'll answer, "dup-dup".

The other day I was holding her hand and walking down the stairs when I guess I was moving a bit too fast and she missed a step and tumbled a bit. I helped her up and she said, "Whoa!"

Out of nowhere yesterday she said, "bubble." There weren't any bubbles anywhere so I am still wondering if she meant something else that just SOUNDED exactly like bubble OR she just randomly said bubble. Well...now we all tell her, "say bubble, Sidney" and she does! Maybe I'll never know where that came from.

She is head over heels in love with COWS. Obssessed, really. Maybe it is all the dairy farms we live near and constantly drive by. Who knows, but every night when I lay her down for bed she says, "moo-moo" and every morning when I pick her up from the crib she says, "moo-moo." It has even become a ritual to make special trips past the dairy farms just so she can stare at the cows. Her fascination USED to be with puppies, but she has moved on to cows for sure.

Remberto found her a stuffed baby cow she now carries around everywhere

Whenever Sidney needs a new diaper, she'll now come to someone and make a "stinky" face and wave her hand in front of her face and say, "phew-phew." Wish I had a picture of this one is action. In fact...I'm gonna work on it!!

Today she was choking for a second on a chip and Linda went to her and patted her on the back to help her get the chip up (or down, I guess). Well...later on in the day Sidney started coughing again for whatever reason and no one came to help her, so she started hitting HERSELF on the back.

Ok...one more and then some more pics........

I was out picking up dog poop recently and Sidney was just walking around in the backyard with me (avoiding "landmines", I think) when I noticed she went back inside. As I was about to enter the house looking for her, she came towards me with a plastic grocery bag that we usually use to put the dog scoopings in. She knew I'd need one! AND...I HAD forgotten to bring one out so she was a big help. Funny thing is, when I was all done and went back into the house, I noticed she had gotten the grocery bag from under the sink (which has a safety latch on it). Hmmmmm....great!

Here are some recent pics of Sidney (and Steven) bug hunting in the front yard.

One shoe on and one shoe off....

Since no one else is doing it, I'll put my shoe on myself

Kennidy's 7th Grade Award Ceremony

Wow. What else can I say? Wow. Kennidy is a very special young lady. She has officially completed her 7th grade school year. I received a letter in the mail from her school informing me that Kennidy would be receiving an award at an end of the school year ceremony and that family was invited to come celebrate with her as she received her award. The letter said AN award. We had no idea that it was in fact plural (awards). Nor did we know just how special one of those awards would be.
Unfortunately Remberto was working the night of the ceremony, but I got all the kids ready and we went to cheer Kennidy on. The night started off with the recognition of current 7th graders who were nominated by teachers to participate in student council their 8th grade school year. Kennidy was one of the chosen few who was asked to stand and be recognized for her nomination in to student council. She will run for her position of choice in the fall of her 8th grade year.

The night continued on with various award presentations. When all was said and done, Kennidy walked away with a medal for perfect attendance, a medal for carrying a 4.0 GPA all year and a medal for academic excellence. As a very special treat and to our surprise as well as hers, Kennidy also received the last award of the night which was called a Principal's Award. It was awarded to just one male and one female from the entire 7th grade class. It recognizes the student for all-around excellence at the highest award level. Kennidy received a very special plaque for this very special award.

Needless to say, we are all very proud of Miss Kennidy. Here are some pictures from the special night...

Babysitting Duties

I was recently lucky enough to be given the privilege of babysitting my friend, Christy's, newest addition, Taylor Faith. Born May 6th, 2010, little Taylor is just a month old! Christy had to go back to work to close out the school year in her classroom and asked several friends/family to help her care for Taylor while she is away. I got the first day!! I had a blast just cuddling with Taylor. Luckily Remberto was off during the day because Sidney was quite the handful. I don't know how my cousin, Katie, does it with a 20 month old and a 4 month old. My hands were full and I was busy the whole time!!

Sidney didn't want the baby to cry

So...she gave her a kiss

Then I grabbed the baby and Sidney quickly replaced the baby with Elmo

Remberto held little Taylor a bit so I could get lunch ready for us

Such an easy baby! She was content pretty much the whole day

Kennidy came home from school and it was time for Taylor to eat AGAIN

Cuddle time!

Linda's Award Extravaganza

Linda cleaned up at the end of the school-year award ceremony!! She received both a silver and gold medal for her reading achievements. She received a trophy for being an honor roll student ALL year. She also received various ribbons for her participation in the spelling bee and for helping her fellow staudents and teacher throughout the year.

With those reading medals!
