I gotta make sure I have lots of light on when I make these videos!! Note to self, I guess. Anyway...this is a LONG minute and a half of Sidney checkin' out her books, but it is worth your time, I think. P.S.--I was filming this video "secretly" because sometimes if she sees me filming or taking her picture, she'll stop what she is doing!! Oh! Pay attention in the last ten seconds as she tries to tell me something.

Award Winners

Linda and Steven each had award ceremonies at school this week. Steven got an award for outstanding work in math and Linda got 3 awards.....one for having mostly all A's on her recent report card (only one B), another for outstanding work in writing and a medal for the amount of reading she has racked up.

New Things I Do

Where to begin? Sidney will be 17 months old tomorrow. Old cliche rings true yet again....time flies! Hmmmm...lets see how I can brag about this little lady. For one thing, Sidney is a quick learner. Kennidy taught her what a cow says...."mooo". Linda taught her how to "fall down" and "kick". Kinda resembles a tantrum to me, but what do I know?! If you ask her to fall down, she will lay on the floor and smile and then you have to say "kick" and she'll kick her legs. Um...what else...?? She loves the outdoors. LOVES to go for walks. She can point out her hair, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, fingers, toes, tummy, and diaper. If you say "dance around and around", she will do just that...twirl around in a circle. She says and points to da-da and ma-ma. She says sis, juice, please ("pfff"), Bo-Bo, and ba-ba. We recently took the gate away from the bottom of the stairs as she is comfortable and capable enough to manage the stairs easily enough. We still have the gate at the top, though, just in case! She has begun helping me brush her teeth AND she can sometimes be found sitting in her rocking chair, reading.

Birthday Lunch and a Movie

This year Kennidy decided she'd like to invite a few of her friends to lunch and a movie in celebration of her 13th birthday. We had yummy Mexican food at Chevy's and then saw Alice in Wonderland in 3-D.

Preschool Preview

Thursday we visited Grandma's preschool and boy did Sidney have fun! Well...let me rephrase that....Sidney eventually had fun. She took a bit to scope out the joint and decide whether this was an activity she was interested it. If you know Sid, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Once she warmed up to the idea, and saw other kids having a good time, she decided that this was maybe her favorite place!

Sidney was walking around yesterday with "Woods" (her new teddy bear). She was showing him all around the house. We visited everyone's room and even read him some stories in Sidney's room. In my room, she decided to have him look out the window...

13....Going On 30

It's official...I have a teenager. Kennidy turned 13 this past Sunday. Here are some then and now pics....

Birthday Ball

This past Saturday we got to enjoy another volleyball tournament...this time in SAN DIEGO. Though it is a club team, we rarely travel this far for a weekend tournament. They are usually within a closer proximity to us, but at any rate...we took a road trip! Kennidy's team did real well! Won 2 of the 3 matches they played. I call this post "Birthday Ball" as the tournament was the day before Kennidy's 13th Birthday!!
