Game Night Tuesdays
Tuesday nights are our designated family game nights!! Well...everyone minus Sidney. We all eat dinner together and then we put Sidney to bed and play board games with Kennidy, Linda and Steven. BOARD games. Not the Wii (which is played all other available times). We told the kids we'd play BOARD games with them. It helped that they got LOTS of board games for Christmas. Our current family favorite is "Toss Your Cookies." Sorry no pics, yet...maybe next Tuesday night!!

Rain Rain Go Away
It's been raining ALL week here in So Cal, but Thursday afternoon we got a break in the downpour so I decided to run to the grocery store and grab some things I needed. I took Sidney with me as Remberto was sleeping. It was actually sunny outside when we walked into Albertsons, but it was NOT sunny when we walked out. In fact, it was POURING! The sky opened up and unleashed on Ontario at exactly the moment I needed to get to my car.
A nice lady offered me her umbrella so I could try to get Sidney to the car somewhat dry (because I am a bad mom and didn't bring an umbrella with me). So...I walked to my car, pushing the shopping cart and holding an umbrella over Sidney best I could. The rain was coming down sideways now and my jeans were soaked from the waist down. When I got to the car I had to set the umbrella down so I could throw Sid into her carseat. I set it into the shopping cart (with the bags of food that were filled with water at this point). I managed to get Sidney into her carseat and shut the car door only to find out that my borrowed unbrella had blown away and was still blowing across the parking lot. A nice man drove up next to me and told me he would go get the umbrella and as he drove off to do so, the lady who owns the umbrella drove up to collect her item. By this point I am soaked from head to toe and it is still pouring. Now, another man runs up to me (wearing a suit and tie and getting soaked) and asks me, "did you get the baby into the car ok?" I told him yes and thanked him and he ran off as the nice man who chased down the umbrella pulls up and hands it to me. I then hand it to the lady who let me borrow it and everyone drove off and left me standing next to my car.....drenched. I just started laughing, hysterically, as I got into the car and drove home.

I took this picture on my cell phone the second I got into the car after the ordeal. Can you tell I am soaked?
Wouldn't ya know it....when we pulled into the garage, the sun came out again!!
Now here's the best part...I was telling everyone my story during dinner and when I finished, Steven asks me, "did the man who ran up to you to ask if Sidney was in the car have spikey hair?" I couldn't help but laugh at the off the wall question.

Storytime!!
Wednesday mornings Sidney and I go to the Ontario library for Tiny Tots storytime. We even braved the rain to go this week! We hear stories and sing songs and at the end we get to play with toys!!!! Who knew you could play in a library?!?!? Here are a few pics from our Wednesdays.

Torrential Tuesday
Who says it doesn't rain in California?
This is a compilation of videos I made yesterday during the rainiest times of the day. Please excuse the commentary. In fact, turn your volume off. :)
P.S.--My favorite part happens at 3:20 into the video.

Better Safe Than Sorry
Last night as I was getting Sidney ready for bed I noticed that she had a red pinpoint rash on her torso, back and neck that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. I knew I had not seen it there until now. My first thought was that it could have something to do with the fact that she is cutting 3 molars right now and I have read that sometimes teething can cause a rash. So...I didn't think too much about it and just put her to bed as usual. After two hours of trying to get her to sleep, I started getting really concerned. She was just more uncomfortable and cranky than usual. Remberto was at work so I decided to call Sid's pediatrician who told me to go to the ER ASAP as she wanted to rule out meningitis. MENINGITIS! (Guess the way I was describing the rash and the fact that Sidney was more irritable than usual was more cause for concern than I thought). So Remberto came home from work to be with Kennidy, Linda and Steven who were sleeping and off we went to the ER.
In the end, we spent from 11pm-2am (Tuesday morning) in the ER and were told that her rash was in fact a classic allergic drug reaction. Doc assumes it can most likely be attributed to the Motrin Sidney has been taking for her teething as Tylenol is much less likely to cause an allergic reaction.

In the ER

Can't see the rash too clearly here...but...it's there
So no more Motrin for Sidney. She is doing much better today. Just happy we ruled out MENINGITIS!!!
