Babysitting Duties

I was recently lucky enough to be given the privilege of babysitting my friend, Christy's, newest addition, Taylor Faith. Born May 6th, 2010, little Taylor is just a month old! Christy had to go back to work to close out the school year in her classroom and asked several friends/family to help her care for Taylor while she is away. I got the first day!! I had a blast just cuddling with Taylor. Luckily Remberto was off during the day because Sidney was quite the handful. I don't know how my cousin, Katie, does it with a 20 month old and a 4 month old. My hands were full and I was busy the whole time!!

Sidney didn't want the baby to cry

So...she gave her a kiss

Then I grabbed the baby and Sidney quickly replaced the baby with Elmo

Remberto held little Taylor a bit so I could get lunch ready for us

Such an easy baby! She was content pretty much the whole day

Kennidy came home from school and it was time for Taylor to eat AGAIN

Cuddle time!

Linda's Award Extravaganza

Linda cleaned up at the end of the school-year award ceremony!! She received both a silver and gold medal for her reading achievements. She received a trophy for being an honor roll student ALL year. She also received various ribbons for her participation in the spelling bee and for helping her fellow staudents and teacher throughout the year.

With those reading medals!

All the loot!

About That Time of Year Again

We finally got a few warm days in a row and the kids were itching to get in that pool! Luckily the pool is not so large that it takes weeks to warm up. In fact, with the solar on and some nice sunny days recently, the pool has heated up to 76 degrees currently. I even got in! Well...when it's as hot as it has been lately that pool was lookin' good!

Not to be out-done, Kennidy performs as well!

Poor Sidney didn't even have a suit yet

Somebody get my ball!

Playing instruments

**If you ask Sidney how she is doing, she may say, "dood."

**If Sidney wants to take a bath, she'll usually ask by saying, "bahhh"

**Sidney's favorite book right now is called Big and Little

**Yesterday Sidney put Kennidy to "bed" by covering her with a blanket, "reading" her a story and saying, "shhhh."

** If Sidney finds something that she thinks is dirty, she'll say, "cuck", then pick it up and bring it to me.

**Close to where we live are working dairy farms and we sometimes drive past them. When we do, Sidney will see them and say, "moooo, mooooo, moooo."

**If you ask Sidney if she wants a particular thing, she may say, "yup" or "no".

18 Month Pictures

A silly one taken with Mom to get her aquainted with the camera

Texting already!

Long Time...No Blog

Yikes! It's been quite some time since I have posted a new entry! Time flies these days. Since my last entry, we have celebrated 2 birthdays AND Mother's Day! Remberto and I had fun celebrating our birthdays the beginning of this month. We went out and bought each other beach cruisers! Now everyone in the family has a bike (except Sidney...who will enjoy being pulled behind my bike in one of those cool bike trailers). We are looking forward to many family bike riding trips this summer. Remberto took me to lunch at Chevy's on my birthday (best salsa in the world) and he got In N Out the next day on his birthday! We also went out to dinner with Jamie and Ashley--WITHOUT KIDS. How exciting that was. All in all we celebrated the heck out of turning 30-ish. (What a bad blogger I am...no pictures of anything birthday related. Sorry).
Mother's Day followed shortly behind our birthdays. Kennidy surprised me with some beautiful pink flowers that are currently planted in our backyard. Linda and Steven made me nice cards and Remberto lavished me with a gift certificate to Glen Ivy Spa. Can't wait to cash that one in! We all enjoyed a brunch buffet with Remberto's parents, too. Sadly though, Remberto had to work 16 hours on Mother's Day, so after brunch I took 4 kids home for rest time and then to Target later in the afternoon (because Steven had to blow the $5 he had gotten from his grandparents recently). Sid and I sat in the Target snack area and shared nachos while the other 3 crazy kids spent some of their dough. (Again..no pics...sorry!)

As an update (and mostly for my future memory).....Sidney now sleeps through the night!!! FINALLY. Something happened at 18 months and ever since she hit that milestone, I have finally been able to catch up on my sleep. No more bottle, either. I actually threw them all away last week. She continues to amaze her dad and me with some things she does. For example, the other day she brought me a book and opened it up to a page with a picture of a juice cup on it and began to point at the picture repeatedly. I asked her, "Do you want your juice cup?" She said, "Yup" and added a nod of her head. She occasionally sets a teddy bear on her potty and I'll ask her, "Is your teddy going potty?" She will nod 'yes'. Hmmmm...what else? I'll have to start making a list of things as they happen because I could have sworn I had a million things to shre...but, no I can't remember any more.

BUT.....I DO have pics of SIDNEY!  I forgot the camera for our birthdays and Mother's Day, but I had it handy for some good ones of Sidney recently.
